Human now lives at olive.is
On October 28, olive.is became the home of Human, Olive’s check that a person wrote a piece of writing.
Paste in at least 50 words of English. When Human reads the text as written by a person, it returns a Verified human mark and a link the writer can share with a teacher or editor. When it can’t confirm that, it points to the sentences worth a second look. A flag is a reason to look closer, not proof that anyone cheated.
The numbers
In a release test, Human flagged none of 600 human-written papers. It also flagged none of 1,195 essays by people learning English, a group other AI checks have been shown to flag unfairly. Researchers who want the datasets can write to support@olive.is. The full figures are on the model card (opens in a new tab).
The Humanizer Report
The same day, we published The Humanizer Report (opens in a new tab), on what AI rewriting tools sold as “humanizers” do to the text they disguise. One tool changed the facts in 29 of the 32 essays we checked, and of 152 references in the originals, only 55 survived.
Human is free to try, and teachers with a school email can check up to 50 papers a month at no cost.
